The acclaimed Schroeder family of winemakers has braved the elements in Argentina’s southerly Patagonia region since 1927—and they’ve really mastered the conditions. Exhibit A: Their signature Schroeder Estate Patagonia Cabernet Sauvignon, which offers complex aromas of smoky black currant that lead to a smooth and intensely flavored, fruit-rich palate.

Some of their success comes down to climate. Down in Patagonia, at 39° South Latitude, sunny days, cool nights and icy-cold Antarctic winds produce uniquely tight clusters of Cabernet. These grapes are tiny and thick skinned, yielding reds of serious color and flavor.
