Concord is a native American grape variety (Vitis labrusca) best known for its role in sweet, foxy-flavored wines and grape juice. Developed in the mid-19th century by Ephraim Wales Bull in Concord, Massachusetts, this hardy grape thrives in cool climates, particularly in the Northeastern United States and the Great Lakes region.

What makes Concord unique is its distinctive “foxy” aroma and intense grapey flavor, which differs significantly from European Vitis vinifera varieties. It produces wines with deep purple hues, bold fruitiness, and natural sweetness, often with notes of candied grape, plum, and jam.
