And this new edition, courtesy of Rioja’s ‘Very Good’ 2008 vintage, is every bit as impressive.

Starring estate-grown, old-vine Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Graciano, it was aged three years in top-notch French and American barrels (with another six-plus years in bottle) and ripples with ripe red fruit, warm vanilla-spice, and dark chocolate flavors. Eleven years old and drinking beautifully now, it will shine with roasted lamb, game-meat stews, and more.
