A red ruby color, the 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Soccorso spent 42 months in oak and the rest in bottle. It has a more minty lift on the nose, with notes of licorice, cherry lozenge, sweet herbs, sage, and leather. The palate has wonderful tension and energy, with grippy tannins and stone fruit on a long finish. It’s very nicely done and a pure drink to enjoy over the coming 20 years.
