Mugnier’s 2021 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées is pretty and fine-boned, wafting from the glass with notes of sweet red berries, peonies and orange zest, framed by an extremely discreet patina of sweet oak. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with a cool core of fruit, melting tannins and a saline finish, its structural charm renders it deceptively approachable, even if I think patience is in fact likely to be rewarded.
