The 2021 Cazetiers from Rousseau displays a bright, forward red currant and pomegranate fruit with an edge of violets and minerals. The aromas are high-toned and bright, suggesting the cool vintage, yet there is more depth and density and less acid tension than expected. The grapes come from 0.60 hectares down the slope from Bruno Clair. After cold maceration, the destemmed fruit was fermented on native yeasts and is ageing in used casks.
