Made by the estate’s talented head winemaker, Brian Maloney, with grapes from low-yielding old vines, it’s immediately enticing with aromas of ripe raspberry and black cherry preserves, lifted by floral accents. Layers of dark berries and dried plums unfurl on the palate, flecked with notes of white pepper and smoky oak. It’d be a surefire winner with roasted turkey and other poultry, beef, hearty rice dishes, and more.
