Day Wines Gamay / Dolcetto “Infinite Air Castles” 2022 750ml

An excellent combination of Dolcetto and Gamay highlights these varieties’ bright fruit and savoury character. Winemaker Brianne Day has many body and fruit presence similarities in these two varieties. She thought ‘they would complement each other well. I also like that in their respective home regions. They occupy a similar underdog or kid sister role to Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo.’ Wild green strawberries, smoke and violets announce this delightful blend with a real Old World bent. The palate is playful, with tart cranberries, bright strawberries, wild mint, and a touch of Italian countryside rusticity. Delicious.
