The mostly unoaked Mencía 2021 Castro Candaz feels a bit reductive and with the wild character that you sometimes get from the reds from Mencía. It’s juicy and fruit driven with some earthy tannins. It was produced mostly with Quiroga grapes and a little from Chantada. 15,000 bottles produced.
