The masterful Sam Trimboli—aka Mr. Medals, the winemaker behind some of our most-loved Australian wines—is at it again.His fan-favorite Black Duck sports a history of top acclaim, including two top gold medals for this lush-and-lovely 2020 release. Showcasing Sam’s favorite grape, Durif (along with splashes of Merlot and Shiraz), this lusciously rich red was also aged six months in American oak. It’s a perfectly delicious example of Sam’s handiwork, which has earned him more than 30 international trophies and just shy of 400 Australian awards during his winemaking career.

Full bodied and well rounded, it boasts layers of rich black cherry and plum, with hints of violet and toasty spice notes. Serve it with equally full-flavored meals—from barbecue classics to hearty stews.
