Portugal’s legendary Van Zeller family have made premium wine in the Douro Valley since 1715. Always looking to innovate, they decided to bring together their two strongest suits – luscious Port and bold (dry) reds – in their first-ever Port-barrel-aged Reserva. And it’s been a huge hit with both customers and critics.

The inaugural release sold out in a flash. The 2016 vintage was also extremely popular – not just with our customers, but with France’s prestigious Gilbert & Gaillard wine guide, which rated it 90 points. Now, we’re proud to present the equally delicious 2017 …

It’s everything fans of BIG, luscious reds look for in a wine. Crafted from the country’s flagship grape, Touriga Nacional, it offers up wave after wave of blackberry, candied plum, and toasty spice notes. Here’s 15th-generation winemaker Alvaro van Zeller on what else is in store:

“This limited-edition Douro Reserva was aged 12 months in barrels that we previously used to mature our favorite vintage Port. The result is a super-rich dry red that’s a little smoother, a little rounder, and a little more luxurious. Enjoy!”
