Tiare marched into the Concours Mondial du Sauvignon, the top worldwide competition for Sauvignon Blanc, and took the top spot, besting nearly 500 wines from Sancerre, Bordeaux, New Zealand, and beyond.

A luminous and complex Sauvignon Blanc from an estate that’s taken home Italy’s highest honor—Tre Bicchieri—eight times, the 2020 Tiare is bursting with aromas of Amalfi lemon zest, green apple, guava, and a layer of spice, and the palate shows tropical fruit with a limestone streak and lively acidity that carry all the way through the bone-dry finish.

Tiare’s 30-acre property in Collio, positioned between the Adriatic Sea and the Julian Alps, experiences wide temperature swings between day and night that foster an excellent balance of ripeness and acidity in the grapes. The estate’s meticulous soil management pinpoints the parts of the vineyard with the ideal microbial activity to provide a healthy level of nutrients for the vines.

The vineyard team carefully monitors the grapes so that they can pick them at the exact moment when aromatic ripeness reaches its peak. The wine’s gorgeous texture and vibrancy are preserved by aging in stainless-steel tanks, ultimately yielding a beautifully perfumed, mineral-rich Sauvignon Blanc.
