Antonio Galloni of Vinous, after tasting a complete three-decade Massetto vertical, called the 2014 “terrific, even in the company of all the truly great Massetos.” Accessible now but with many glorious years ahead of it, it’s got aromas of wild boysenberries and crushed violets awakening the senses and a sturdy frame carrying a miles-long finish. This is a classic that belongs with the First Growths in your cellar, and as Galloni said, it “still has many chapters in its history to write.”
