Benjamin Romeo was the first “garagiste” of Rioja, and he won back to back 100-point scores in 2004 and 2005, catapulting his under the radar wines to well-deserved international fame. The Contador showcases his chart-topping style with aromas of macerated plums, blackberries, and violets, tinged with resinous notes of herbs, licorice, and allspice. This is a gorgeous and incredibly rare Rioja that is going to evolve beautifully for another 10 to 15 years.
