Monet, Van Gogh, Millet: Those are just a few of the masters who have been inspired by a hayrick. (You could also call it a haystack and lose an ounce of its rustic romance.) And now, you can add Hayrick Sauvignon Blanc to the list, with luscious orchard fruit flavors and herbal tones that bring to mind scenic summery pastures.

The wine hails from premium sites in California’s beloved Lodi region, which is increasingly considered one of the top wine regions in the country. East of the largest gap in California’s Coast Ranges, the area has an idyllic Mediterranean climate characterized by warm, dry summers, but is kept cool by winds off the Pacific—the perfect combination of conditions for grape growth and ripening.

In the glass, you can look forward to bright peach and apricot characteristics, with hay-like tones and subtle notes of boxwood. If the weather allows, take Hayrick along for a picnic or a trip to the beach. (It’s also perfectly fine indoors, served well chilled on its own or with tarragon chicken, pork and vegetable dishes.)
