Artémis is known for only the best: They own Château Latour, Domaine d’Eugénie, Eisele Vineyard, Château Grillet, and Clos de Tart, luxury houses that make some of the most expensive wines in the world. And their vision of Bouchard’s future focuses on the domaine’s higher-end wines. That means the 2021 Bouchard Bourgogne Chardonnay represents the last-ever vintage of one of the great values in Burgundy.

The secret for Bouchard Pere & Fils’ success? The Domaine dates all the way back to 1731, long before France was even a République. Through the centuries, they’ve been able to purchase vineyards and develop connections with growers that other wineries can only dream of. After all, there’s a reason Artémis Domaines came calling.

For this wine, Bouchard taps an assortment of standout vineyards, both in the glamorous Côte d’Or, where they’re based, and the Côte Chalonnaise, a top source for excellent values. The 2021 vintage was a delightful throwback, and this wine reminds us of the bottles that got us into Burgundy in the first place. It’s got aromas of crunchy green apple, lemon zest, and a hint of hazelnut, along with bright pear, citrus, and minerally flavors on the palate.
