2016 BOND Quella Red Wine Napa Valley

Quella is a nine-acre site in the eastern hills overlooking Napa Valley. The southwest-facing slope is an ancient riverbed composed of cobble and volcanic ash, and in 2016 it produced a brooding purple Cabernet of beautiful elegance: Ripe blueberry, wild plum, and currant mingle with wintergreen, tilled earth, toast, and exotic spices. It’s tightly wound but incredibly graceful, with a super-long and evolving finish. It’s another “ ‘Wow’ wine,” according to Jeb Dunnuck, and James Suckling deemed it to be perfect, with his 100-point score.
