2016 BOND Vecina Red Wine Napa Valley

From a vineyard directly southeast of the BOND winery (Vecina means neighbor) in the western foothills of Oakville, the 2016 is “easily a 50-year wine” according to the 100-point review by Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. With sultry aromas of black cherry, wild blueberry, maraschino, rose petal, loam, wild herbs, and pencil lead, and a palate of black currant, blueberry, spice box, and graphite flavors carried on an impressively stout structure, this is powerful, yet appealing out of the gate.
