2016 BOND Melbury Red Wine Napa Valley Magnum (1.5 L)

Sourced from a site on the slopes north of Lake Hennessey in eastern Napa Valley, the 2016 Melbury is deep purple in color and immediately charming. It shows ripe black currant and blueberry pie fruit, graphite, wild herbs, super-fine tannins and seamless integration of toasted oak. Jeb Dunnuck’s 100-point review called it “pure perfection in a glass” and “the finest vintage of this cuvée I’ve tasted,” and a wine that “will evolve effortlessly for 30 years or more.”
