2016 Favia Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville Napa Valley

Andy and Annie are stewards and advocates for their home appellation of Coombsville, which is historic, but newly ascendant in the minds of most Napa Valley wine lovers. The AVA boasts gravelly soils and a cooling closeness to San Pablo Bay, and the two combine to lend the wines a savory Old World quality—one that shines through in the 2016 Coombsville Cabernet.

Consisting of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it’s an electric purple wine whose vibrant aromas of blackberry jam, cassis, vanilla, and clove announce a muscular yet taut texture. Highly complex and classically structured, it landed on Wine Spectator’s Top 100, and Antonio Galloni called it “wonderfully vivid and alive in the glass.” We look forward to enjoying this one over the next two decades.
