We could list all the accolades DeLille Cellars has earned—the Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast Top 100s, being named a Top Five American Winery by Enthusiast, the more than 600 scores over 90 points, and on, and on, and on—but we all have places to go today.

Besides, there’s only one that really matters: Every wine we’ve offered from DeLille has sold out. Our members know royalty—and outstanding value—when they taste it.

It’s a reflection of the same quality that prompted Robert Parker to call DeLille “the Lafite-Rothschild of Washington State” and made Wine & Spirits name them to their Top 100 Wineries list four years in a row.

With the Metier Cabernet, they’ve packaged their decades of winemaking acumen, careful vineyard sourcing, and blending genius into a bottle that’s affordable enough to buy in bulk. It’s a rare chance to enjoy the ageworthy DeLille wines young.

In the low-yielding 2020 vintage, DeLille drew Metier’s grapes from two captivating subregions: The Horse Heaven Hills AVA  and Candy Mountain, Washington’s newest AVA. Both regions have battering winds and well-draining soils that stress the vines, which eke out small, boldly concentrated grapes.

The two terroirs combine to produce a wine of rich complexity and succulence, the kind of fine-tuned bottle that inspired Jeb Dunnuck to call DeLille a “Washington State First Growth.” You can’t find a better snapshot of what makes the state’s Cabernets so endlessly compelling.

When Parker compared DeLille to Lafite, it’s because their wines reflect the complexity and grace of Bordeaux’s Cabernet-based stalwarts. However, their style isn’t mere mimicry: It combines Old World structure with the bold fruit of New World powerhouses—a push-pull that manifests beautifully in the Metier.
