Medium garnet in color, the nose is somewhat reticent, with hints of chocolate, stones, rosemary and cherry fruit, with the suggestion of orange rind providing a bit of lift. Plump, fairly soft tannins, open, and accessible are some of the adjectives describing the Burlotto. The cocoa and cherry flavors have good intensity, balance, and lift along with appealing strong herbal notes. The wine finishes well with a touch of steely minerality and herbs. A well made, solid, wine.
